Life Partner

September 10, 2012 Leave a comment

So everyone tends to hide their weaknesses and show their very best in front of the person they have a crush on. As time goes by, somehow our bad attitude will slowly surface one after another, to a point that our partner starts to think that we have changed. That’s when problem started to arise cause out of sudden when someone revealed their true attitude, we have a hard time to tune in to it. In a lot cases, it ended up in broken relationship.

Well, I admit that me myself tends to hide my bad attitude in the early stage of relationship too. But me being me, it always surface out super duper fast. Not going to write a very long description here but I am thankful that me and the WiFe are the kind that dig nose and burp loud loud in front of each other, and we are happy that way!

I had a great time today and to my dear WiFe, please drink more water okay!

Blessed to have you. You’re indeed the love of my life! =)

of Love and Expectations

So recently I’ve heard heaps of sad-love-stories from people who are close to me. Marriage problems, betrayals, wrong decisions… you name it. All these sort of forced me to give a deep thought on this issue of Love, which have caused thousands (or maybe millions?) to kill themselves.

Love, what a big word. As if I am qualified to talk about this topic. Anyway, I have always link the word LOVE with the word EXPECTATIONS. We always hear songs and poems talking about love without any expectations, care without hoping anything in return. But is that really the case in our real life? Personally, I know I always put in expectations in any relationships I am in. For example, when I love someone, I would had hope that she will love me back, someday, somehow. When I care so much for someone, I expect that he or she would care for me in returns, or at least appreciates me. Aren’t all these expectations?

Read on only if you agree with my statements above.

Expectations varies from case to case, and it will never be a fair case. We can put in tonnes of expectations in one relationship but less in the next. But I dare to say that one thing is constant, expectation grows. Imagine that you got a crush on a girl and you hope that one day she will notice you, and not crush your heart. Soon after she starts to notice you, you put in hope that someday she would give you a little chance to be with her. So now you two are together, you expect her to be loyal to you, to reply your messages, to say “I love you” everyday…and the list goes on. Soon as she fulfilled all these, your expectations grow bigger and expect her to tell you before she went out with friends. This would further develop to tell you who she is going out with and where are they heading to. Lastly, you would expect her to get your permission before she went out with friends. So what happen to the “I only hope that you will give me a chance, that’s all”? Oh humans… (I know the girlfriend will use what I write here to backfire me, hahaha!)

From my observations and experiences, expectation grows in relative of its fulfilment. It increases themselves as soon as the former are fulfilled. That explained why our expectations tends to be less when we are in some unhappy relationships. I’ve seen a friend of mine whose partner was far from homeland. All what my friend expect from the partner was just to meet up whenever there’s a chance and that he would be safe and sound. My friend never care how the partner treated her, just a little good deed would makes her flew to the moon and forget about all what is bad. But were just wondering, how long would this low expectation stays? Unless they are forever in this long distance relationship.

Judging by what I myself wrote here, I start to realise that the girlfriend sort of fulfilled almost all my expectations on her. Cause now my expectations went on to the highest level: Expect her to know what I am expecting. Man, now I feel bad. But nah, that shows that how good she is, that is why I would put in such expectation, right? Hahaha… she is indeed a great blessing for me.

Peace out.

So Long, Partner!

So I used to own a Blackberry Bold 9700 and without any doubt it is a great piece of smartphone. I couldn’t deny that it is far better than my Iphone 4 if business is concerned.  Of cause, it is my personal view. Period.

Anyway, after a long thoughts, I had made  up my mind to sale it off. For a simple reason – Maxis BIS plan is comes with a “luxurious” price tag! For RM 40.00 per month (on top of my RM30.00 call plan), Maxis equiped its users with BIS and wap services worth 250mb per month. Digi offers a more affordable package of RM10 per month for BIS and RM20 for BES but I have no attention to switch to Digi as the 3G coverage in Sarawak is still very limited. Futhermore, Digi’s signal can be very unstable at times . By the way, I still have another year of contract with Digi’s iDigi plan for my Iphone. *SIGH*

What ever it is, I’d already sold off my Bold 2 to a petite young lady. Hope that it will serve the new owner well. So long, partner!

It’s better to give than to receive

March 11, 2012 1 comment

So the girlfriend and I were shopping at Cold Storage, Green Height’s Mall today and happen to bump into the World Wide Fund for Nature’s (WWF) booth on the way to my car. Before the officer approached me, I’d already make up my mind that it is time for me to pledge. Anyway, I still let that young man finish up all his sharing.

I signed up for a monthly pledge of RM38 per month and will upgrade to RM58 per month when I feel I am ready for it. Not for the tax exemption, but to give something back to the nature. Remember, we should be good steward of God’s wonderful creations.

Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” (Genesis 1:26)

of Ups and Downs

So life has been quite interesting recently, from changing my daily diet to political gimmicks. You name it, it all came in the same week.

Half boiled egg, steamed lady fingers and carrot slices.

Anyway, work has been quite “fulfilling” over the past two weeks with interesting comments from various party shooting towards me and my sites. From rootless comments and political gimmicks to brainless words from so called “people-from-the-same-side-of-the-game”. Interesting, right? Well what hurts me the most would be the later, where the people who are suppose to be on your side start making unnecessary noises just to protect their own mistakes. I suppose I just have to accept the fact that in the real world, humans are just selfish.

As I were somehow involved in leadership training of youth in Boys’ Brigade, I’ve always trying to implement this mindset of “Growing Together” rather than “Stepping on Others to Climb Up”. Chinese have this saying that one should not teach every single thing that you know to your student, just in case your student decided to betray you and beat you up one day. (Well, I suppose that’s why a lot of the Kung Fu moves that we saw in Chinese action movies are no longer available in this decade.) Personally I do not agree to that saying cause I always want my team to grow the same pace as I am, and it will somehow force myself to keep improving and pumping in new knowledges too! When one day my team mates were promoted to higher level, I know I would be so proud of them (and myself) cause I know I played a part in their success! (Tumpang glamour!)

Apart from that, I’ve also been getting comments like not being smart enough in choosing sites. Honestly, I’ve never regretted in choosing a more challenging workplace. Cause challenges are what drive me forward, and I hold on to God’s promises. [The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you.” –Psalm 32:8 (NLT)] I cannot deny that at times I do feel grumpy about doing much more than required by my job scoop as per job description but at the end of the day, the feeling of satisfaction rewards my mind well. I cant deny too that all these extra challenges had filled me with extra knowledge and skills, and hopefully get spotted and promoted? Well, everyone aiming for promotion, isn’t it? Unless I am the kind of guy who easily satisfied at where he is at now and never aim to improves.

Oh well, all in all I am very glad that I am in a team that’s very closely knitted, more on like family. And together we’ve been through all sort of challenges!

Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence wins championships. -Michael Jordan-

Engineering Survey

August 10, 2011 Leave a comment

So I had been dealing with fresh engineers, supervisors, interns and trainees for the past few weeks which I were suppose to share with them my knowledge. Or at least let them know what they suppose to know. As a freshman in the field, I have awfully limited knowledge and experiences to share with them. You know, the blind leads the blind…

But, there are one skill that I consider very essential – Engineering Survey. Reason? You need that in any construction work! I used to think that we engineer do not need to master this skill as it is usually done by supervisors or surveyors. But then again, how are you going to make sure they do not cheat on you if you know nothing on it? My views changed.

Have a blessed day ahead!
